Cemetery Guidelines

MAINTAINING A PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH TO GRIEVE AND REMEMBER.

"Merciful Lord, turn toward us and listen to our prayers: open the gates of paradise to your servant and help us who remain to comfort one another with assurances of faith, until we all meet in Christ and are with you and with our brother/sister forever."  Rite of Christian Burial

Note from Peter Vitagliano, our Finance and Operations Officer:

It is evident that through the years, the various administrators of the cemetery communicated guidelines, policies, and expectations to cemetery deed holders and visitors with varying degrees of clarity and success. Since joining the staff of St. Thomas Aquinas, I have heard many concerns about the cemetery, from the condition of our lawns to excessive decorations, to safety concerns regarding items that visitors leave at graves. It is a delicate matter to balance the needs of our grieving families, the safety of our staff, and the peacefulness that can be achieved by a level of conformity without imposing undue restrictions on the many visitors who come to remember and honor their loved ones. St. Thomas Aquinas refers to the general guidelines established by the Catholic Cemetery Association of Boston and the Rules and Regulations for Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Boston.
