WHAT IS LIFE TEEN?

What is Life Teen?

Life Teen is a comprehensive, Eucharist-based program of Youth Ministry. It was founded in 1985 at St. Timothy's Parish in Mesa, AZ as a way of bringing teens closer to Christ. Since then, it has grown tremendously, so that today over 120,000 teens, in nearly 1,000 parishes in more than twenty countries around the world worship each Sunday at a Life Teen Mass!

Locally, there are several towns where Life Teen is alive: Foxboro, Stoughton, Dedham, Rockland, Brockton and Hanover all have thriving Life Teen programs, and there are many others in the Fall River, Worcester and Fitchburg areas. And although Life Teen is meant primarily to be a parish-based program, our local parishes get together often to celebrate our common ministry. One example of this is our bi-monthly XLT! (short for eXaLT!) at St. Joseph's Chapel at Holy Cross Family Ministries in Easton (by Stonehill College). At XLT! teens have a powerful experience of Christ's love by praising Him in song, listening to witness talks, and adoring Him in the Blessed Sacrament.

What is Life Teen like in Bridgewater?

As everywhere, here in Bridgewater, the Life Teen program is centered around the Eucharist -- celebrated with beauty, power and participation! The music is upbeat, contemporary Christian with a Catholic flavor, and it invites teens to participate in the Mass. Our Life Teen Mass is celebrated every Sunday evening at 5:30 pm at St. Basil's Chapel, with a LIFE Night afterwards from 7-8:30 pm. LIFE Night is an evening program after Mass, filled with laughs, skits, free food, and opportunities to discuss, learn, and pray with other teenagers who are trying to grow deeper in the Catholic faith, just like you are. br>
Life Teen is not just a teen Mass. The Life Teen movement strives to lead teens to a closer relationship with Christ in ALL aspects of their lives, not just Sunday. In addition to Mass, we offer other events for our teens -- service projects, retreats, social outings and a whole lot more! ALL High school aged teenagers are welcome to any event! All you have to do is show up! (Or sign up early when necessary)
